Wesley R. Graham

Well, for starters. My name is Wesley Graham, but most call me Wes. Photography started out as just another hobby to pass time by. And ended up as a second profession. I only have 1 full year of experience under my belt so far, but don't let that fool you. I started out on film, and learned everything by myself. Mostly trial and error. My first camera was a Nikon EM. Nifty little camera it is. I still use it from time to time. So, after 6 months of film, I decided I wanted to get into the business side of photography. Make a little money to start helping me get new gear. I went out and bought a Nikon D3100. Keep in mind from the EM to the D3100 I've bought a few film cameras and lenses. So, going from film to digital. It was almost insane. I struggled so much to finally get images I was okay with showing on social networks, and then I get ahold of this camera, and Everything is ten times easier. Who would've thought right?

So, it really changed everything for me. Knowing that I didn't have to keep guessing, and hoping I got my shots right. I still keep a scrap book of my best film shots. I guess its on of those things to remind you of where you started. Keeps you in line you know? Some of these big shots act like they're taking good pictures since they first picked up a picture. Me, If I see someone did something wrong, I'mma tell them. But I'm not gonna act like I'm a better photographer. Guess I was raised right. Raised to believe that if your not going to show respect you better

expect any in return. But, I'm sure you don't want to sit here and read my views on respect, and how I think it's messed up that some of these photographers act like that. I don't even think you really wanna take the time to read my life story. But I understand, I don't like reading these either. Its really about getting to know the person behind the camera. Get to understand a little about the personality your working with, or hiring right? Well, as said before. This is just a second profession. My main goal is to become a tattooist. Not some hot shot on tv either. I just want to see clients walking out the door with a smile on their face, even if I sit here all day long and keep saying I could have done better. I'm sure someone is bound to ask. I'm not a tattooist yet. I'm looking for a good apprenticeship right now. They're not easy to find. But your hear because your a model of a family wanting pictures, right?

I'm A really easy guy to work with to be honest. Majority of the time I just try to go with the flow of things.  When it comes to models, I always enjoy hearing their ideas. Same with families. Sometimes they come up with ideas that I'd never have thought of. And when I use my experience of know right from wrong with these ideas, the outcome is pretty good. So, back to the story. After getting the hang of the D3100. I created this site. Wastingtimephotography.com to show to clients and models. It looks more professional then handing them a card with a facebook link. And, I also decided to start selling prints on Etsy.com I'm just starting out with their. Trying to understand what sells and what doesn't. As the print world isn't what it used to be. Not many people want to decorate their homes, offices, and other places with photos anymore. Inless its of their family, of course. But I think I'm getting a better understanding of what people want as decorations for their homes. Before it was just, what do I think looks cool. Then I realized, if I want to sell prints I need to make sure it stands out so well, that seeing it on the internet just isn't enough. Make it to where they must have it hanging in their living room. And when parties happen. Tell their friends where they got it, which brings more business my way. Anyways, thanks for reading this. Or atleast part of it. I don't blame you for not reading the whole thing.
